Move Your Body to Still Your Mind

When I first started exploring meditation, I felt so inadequate! I was restless in both body and mind. It was really hard to sit still and keep my mind focused.

I’m a kinesthetic person. My body sensations are my primary reference point. Movement is joyous to me. I can explore freedom in movement, and let my spirit fly!

It was a revelation to me when I first discovered movement mediation. I found that it was so much easier to focus upon my body movements, and even micro-movements, than to just sit down and try to be still.

The really cool thing? Movement led to the stillness I was trying to find. When I moved my body, I enjoyed the moment — the body sensations, the presence required to do improvisational movement. And then the miracle — my movement would lead eventually into stillness, and my mind would be quiet. I would be at peace.

I’ve been doing movement meditation of all sorts since the late 1980’s. I have taken what I’ve learned and now I’m bringing it to a new offering: “Embody the Light: Enjoy the Rapture of Your Body’s Sparkle”. This is a year-long, in-person group that is a weaving of movement and guided meditation. The goal of this group is to lead you into light body enlightenment, where your body turns into light.

Here is a recording of my teacher Sohra talking about what light body enlightenment is.(Sohra is a channeled entity who has gone into light body and is now teaching others how to do that. I work with her when I’m teaching.)

If you would like to experience the deep communion with Source that is possible with this combination of movement and guided meditation, I invite you to join me in Embody the Light.
